OUR PAYMENT SYSTEM
Everything we now currently offer, including our personal counseling, coaching and monthly virtual events, even the products we sell, will be shared with everyone on a “pay the most you can” basis.
Many of you know that in the final 12 years of our 24 years in chiropractic practice, our fee system was a “box-on-the-wall” for folks to put in the most money they could for their adjustment. In our subsequent 12 years of ministry (I guess we like 12’s), we offered everything we did on a “love offering” basis, which is just a different name for the same thing.
In both cases, it was congruent with our principles. We never felt we were working directly for the folks we were serving; we were serving God (Love, Universal Intelligence; whichever you prefer) by serving the folks, and therefore we relied solely on the universal laws of abundance and exchange to take care of our needs.
It not only worked; it was beautiful in every way. But after we retired from ministry, for some reason (a bit of fear of lack, perhaps?), we abandoned it. A few mornings ago, after unsuccessfully and frustratingly attempting to figure out how to post a price for our next monthly virtual event, I got the strong “hit” in my meditation to go back to it. Especially with the world as it seems to be these days, it feels really good and really right to do this, and Hillary is squarely on board.
This means that everything we now currently offer, including our personal counseling, coaching and monthly virtual events, even the products we sell, will be shared with everyone on a “pay the most you can” basis.
My weekly podcast, “Stew-on-This”, Hillary’s “Mindful Musings” on her “Everyday Wholeness” Facebook page and our every Tuesday Zoom gathering, “The Warrior Circle” (11:00 in California, link in comments) are all currently free and will remain so. I just want to make sure you know that if these are a gift to you or you ever feel called to send a love offering for them, we’ll gratefully and lovingly accept it!
I’m working out the details of how to bring this way of doing things into the 2020’s, including the easiest ways to use technology in order for everyone to partake (especially me!).
In the meantime, we hope this allows someone who otherwise couldn’t to let us serve them! And we also hope it inspires others to find their way to give a bit more, especially to give more of what seems to be missing in the world right now. We’ve been feeling constricted, shut down and at times locked down, and this feels inclusive, open and expansive. We’ve been feeing stagnant, and this feels like an intentional moving forward. We’ve been worried about our freedoms, and this feels very freeing. We’ve been feeling the pervasive fear, and this feels immensely hopeful.
Back in the day, whenever someone asked us why we did the box on the wall, our short answer was, “This is our way of helping to create the kind of world we want to live in.” Once again this feels like the right and perfect way for us to live our most abiding principles and give some of what seems to be missing. What’s yours? Here’s to all of us creating the kind of world we want to live in...together.
